Something to consider: only two buildings in this post are products of true genius—the ones by Gustave Eiffel and Hector Guimard. Maybe it’s time we stopped demanding the originality that only genius can deliver, and adopt an architectural style that makes good-looking buildings easier to provide. Isn’t this the reason Art Deco is preferable to its severe brother, orthodox Modernism?
